Let's Talk Science Outreach is a national, community-based program connecting educators and youth with outstanding volunteers to deliver a wide variety of meaningful science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities for children as young as three years old and youth up to Grade 12. Our Custom Workshops
Looking for a space-related activity to engage your students or youth group? The following is a sampling of activities that some of our Outreach sites can offer. Please note that not all locations are equipped to offer these activities. Please contact your local site directly to find out availability.
Exploration Mars – Grades 6-9
Learn about the challenges of getting to and operating in the extreme environment of The Red Planet. Designing and building a Mars lander will challenge your abilities to work as a team, use resources efficiently, make and revise plans, and integrate knowledge of basic physics.
Tomatosphere™ Seed Investigation – Grades 4-6
Tomatosphere™ uses the excitement of space exploration as a way to teach the skills and processes of scientific inquiry. In this workshop a volunteer will come to your classroom and help set up the Tomatosphere™ Seed Investigation with your class. Learn more about how to order seeds at Tomatosphere.letstalkscience.ca.
